Up close and personal

Today we went on a little adventure for Matt’s birthday and it just so happened there was a Bob’s Furniture store on the way! And that yesterday was payday for us both! We went in with every intention of buying something from the discount section of the store, but we didn’t know that anything bought in that section had to be picked up within 24 hours and there’s no delivery option.

Once we realized we didn’t have transportation to accommodate anything in the discount section we meandered on over to the regular priced part of the store, which was still all very reasonable.

We’ve been looking for a buffet with lots of storage to put in the sunroom, and I’ve been browsing Bob’s online for a few months narrowing down choices. Once we got there though, nothing seemed quite right. It was all too big and heavy and bulky for what I want to be a nice, open space. We ended up buying exactly what I’ve passed over online a hundred times- a bar with very little storage. But we love it! It has the spacious airy look I wanted and it has the swivel stools and footrest Matt was hoping for. It arrives on Thursday and we can’t wait!

Matt had a bar-bar in his mind the whole time, and I had a buffet in my mind the whole time- but this seemed to somehow incorporate things we both like. I love that top has a nice tile pattern that will pull from our green floor and sage walls, it that doesn’t look super modern. Matt likes that there will be more seating with the stools and that there’s still a bottom shelf to store anything that won’t fit on the wine rack. Here it is up close in all it’s wire frame goodness: Maybe I’ll store one of the stools on the counter too….
