Happy Halloween!

I ended my 31 Day Series  yesterday so I could post something a little spookier today….

I don’t have pictures from the Halloween party we went to yet (and by that I mean, I haven’t stolen any off Facebook yet because I completely slacked on taking pictures), but I do have a series of pictures from Matt’s 30th birthday party, for which we had a MASQUERADE theme.

You know how I love a good theme.

To set the tone of the party I did a few things:

  • Made a vignette on the kitchen table
  • Covered windows in bunched black tablecloths, like a theater curtain
  • Covered some of the lighting with gray cheesecloth to dim it up a bit
  • Put out lots of candles

People took the theme in so many different directions:

you're next mask

Matt & I– I went with actual masquerade, then Matt had me paint a mask for him so he could be a “You’re Next” character. Pardon the duck face… it just felt like the kind of post that needed one?

Themed parties are always so much fun, and really give a conversation starter when you’re mixing different groups of friends. We had a blast. A spooky, dimly lit blast.

Happy Halloween!
